The Medical Council of India (MCI) has enlisted the universities where an Indian candidate can study MBBS. You can follow this link to see the MCI listed Medical Colleges: http://edificeeducation.com/mci-listed-universities-2017

It is mandatory to fill and submit MCI eligibility form at MCI Office in Delhi and take the acknowledgement receipt or NOC.

The government of India is also planning to implement uniform national exit test (NEXT) for all medical institutions at the undergraduate level. NEXT will replace the uniform entrance exam at the postgraduate level and the MCI screening exam i.e. FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination)

This means that a graduate doctor wanting to practice medicine in India, irrespective of having a qualification from India or abroad will have to pass the licensure exam and the score of which will also be considered for admission to PG medical courses.
