The Medical University of Warsaw is one of the oldest and largest medical schools in Poland. The first academic department of medicine was created in 1809. Warsaw is Europe's sixth driest major city (driest in Central Europe), with yearly rainfall averaging 482 mm (19.0 in), the wettest month being July.
